Account Deletion

Delete your account in the app (recommended)

Habit AI has a built-in account deletion flow. It is immediate and does not require contacting us:

  1. Open Habit AI and go to the Settings tab.
  2. Tap Account & Sync.
  3. Tap Delete Account.
  4. Confirm in the alert. The alert reads: "Permanently deletes your account, your cloud backup, and all data on this device. This cannot be undone."

If you have been signed in for a long time, you may first be signed out and asked to sign in again, then retry — this re-authentication step is a security requirement before an account can be deleted.

What gets deleted

  • Your cloud backup on our server — habits, entries, body measurements, profile (name and email), settings, and subscription record stored under your account in Firebase are deleted.
  • Your authentication record with Firebase (the account itself) is deleted.
  • If you signed in with Google, the app's access grant to your Google account is revoked.
  • All local data on your device — habits, entries, and measurements — is erased.

What is not deleted

  • Aggregated analytics events and crash diagnostics already collected via Google Firebase Analytics and Crashlytics are retained and deleted according to Google's data retention policies; they are not removed by the in-app flow.
  • Your App Store purchase history and any active subscription — Apple holds these. Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription. Cancel first in iOS Settings → your name → Subscriptions. See Subscription Terms.
  • If you signed in with Apple, the app may still be listed under Sign in with Apple in your Apple ID settings. You can remove it yourself in iOS Settings → your name → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple.

If you never signed in

Without an account, your data exists only on your device — nothing is stored on our servers. Deleting the app from your device deletes your data.

Fallback: request deletion by email

If you can no longer access the app (for example, you no longer have the device), email support@cognitain.in with the subject "Account Deletion Request" from the email address associated with your Habit AI account (the Apple or Google email you signed in with). We will verify the request and delete your account and cloud data within 30 days, and confirm by reply.

Before you delete

Deletion cannot be undone. If you want a copy of your data first, use Settings → Export to CSV inside the app. See the Data Usage page for exactly what is stored where.
